Post ideas for your role in the Master Shot Sequence (150 words)
FOR THE MASTER SHOT SEQUENCE PROJECT THE ROLE I WISH TO FULFILL IS THAT OF THE PRODUCER. I WANT TO GET THE IDEA OF THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF PRODUCING A FILM THROUGH THIS MINI-NARRATIVE EXAMPLE. I WANT TO CONTACT THE OWNERS OF LOCATIONS IN WHICH WE WILL SHOOT. I ALSO WANT TO DEAL WITH GETTING THE TALENT TO SIGN OFF THEIR ACTS. ITS ALL PRETTY BORING STUFF IN THEORY BUT REALLY GETTING PAPER WORK SIGNED PROVIDES A NICE SENSE OF STRUCTURE. WHEN GETTING THESE SUCH THINGS SIGNED I CAN HEAR AQUARELA DO BRASIL PLAYING FAINTLY IN THE BACKGROUND. I ALSO WISH TO DEAL WITH THE CASTING OF THE NARRATIVE, CHOOSING THE BEST ACTORS TO PLAY THE ROLES OF BARN AND PRAKER. HOPEFULLY I CAN ALSO DEAL WITH THE TALENT IN SUCH MANNERS AS BUYING THEM THEIR LUNCH AND STUFF WHILE ON SET. THOUGH NOT AN OSTENSIBLE ROLE OF THE PRODUCER I WOULD LIKE TO DEAL WITH THE MAKEUP FOR THE SHOOT. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE SHOOT IS FOCUSED ON AT THIS POINT BUT I DO HOPE THAT IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SHOOT.

Blog Assignment 5
Our
shooting went relatively well. Although we were not yet able to find someone to
interview for our expert interview we did have a chance to get some very
interesting footage downtown. We found some interesting street performers to
interview/showcase and we were also able to get three very informative vox-pop
interviews. The street performers we spoke with were very supportive with our
project and let us film them for as long as we wanted.
When
speaking with the interviewees in the last of our three vox-pops we were
invited to attend a cos-play event at the Calico room. There we obtained some gnarly
footage of a freestyle rappers performance and a multitude of crazy coloured
costumes. It was definitely a great aesthetic addition to our project, which
was really lacking in the colour spectrum up to that point. After the calico
room we also got some very interesting sound of the music playing in the bars.
The only setback was that our video camera did not record any sound, so it is
going to be rather hard to sync up all the audio.

Documentary Project
For our interview we plan on documenting the street performers who perform nightly in downtown Wilmington. Furthermore we are going to silhouette these performances with a visual documentation of the aesthetic transformation of the city streets between day and night. It will be a film largely in a sensual basis, with a focus on the sounds and images of the Wilmington streets. It will also focus on the bond between performer and the street how this affects the synthesis of the music. The expert interview will be with one of the performers and some possible questions we can ask are thus:
What is music to you? What is your relationship with the streets you are playing on? What is the muse to your art? Who do you play for, the passerby, or something/someone else? Do you ever collaborate with anyone? Are you from the area? What genre do you focus on? What brings you out each night to perform? What was the greatest night you have had while performing?
These are the questions for the expert interview. When it comes to the voice of the public interviews we will ask three very general questions such as, and not limited to:
What do these performers mean to you ? Would the streets of downtown Wilmington be the same without these musicians? What is music to you ?
The documentary will focus on sound and sight and the dialogue will be a minor aspect of the feature. We plan in filming three times, on night shoot, one day shoot (to capture the daytime of the area) and one shot of dusk. For now that's the brunt of the project.

Light Observation 2: Rainstorm
I made this observation standing under an awning waiting to make my run into the rain to my bus. The rain is falling so heavily that you can't see more than five feet in front of you. The sunlight shines through each raindrop and you could imagine that if one were to slow time down, each drop would be lit like a point on a three dimensional scatter plot. Except they would be illuminated like light bulbs, inevitably falling to shatter organically. Then the light which they had captured, would spread across the ground forming gleaming rivulets. Eventually, as the water gathers in pools, the rain ebbs and the surface stills, the light will reflect of the water and invert the sky, the trees and anything else they capture.

Light Observation 1:
The clouds have removed a lot of the color from the light. It's mainly a soft white glow which illuminates most of the room in a relatively truthful manner. The inanimate objects shine with inherent luster. As for people, the lines, crevices and muscle movements show with every facial expression. In this light, beautiful smiles will be beautiful smiles but the feigned and forced will be exposed unforgivably. The young plants growing on the window sill inherit a mystical glow. It is good light for a nap, or for a cup of coffee.
